Budget Submission from CUPE 1483 and CUPE 2026 To Dufferin-Peel Catholic DSB

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board (DPCDSB) is facing a choice of how to spend its money, and we demand that they use funds provided by the Ministry of Education to preserve CUPE jobs.
The DPCDSB is currently conducting a public consultation on its budget, which will affect, among other things, the number of education workers it employs. Today, CUPE Local 1483 and CUPE Local 2026, unions representing custodial & maintenance and clerical & technical employees at the Board, made an official submission to the consultation. Please read it here [link].

We know how overworked we already are. The Board has the money to prevent losing another 51 CUPE jobs, but to date have made no promises that they will do so.

We need to raise our voices and direct our school board Trustees’ attention to this important submission. Consider calling your Trustee now. Share this email with your co-workers, family, and friends, and share it via social media.
We will be organizing an event in the near future to raise our collective voices. Stay tuned.
